Social Responsibility

After our first visit to Glenpark Primary School, we decided we wanted to get involved and help them with their goals for the school and students.

Glenpark Primary School is situated approximately 3km from Emdoneni Lodge
with Cheetah Project and teaches 450 children from Grades 0-7. The headmaster, Sipho, is such a great person, with a big heart and big dreams for the school.

Another side of this project is educating the children about the Cats in our rehabilitation project, which commenced with a visit by kids and staff to Emdoneni Lodge with Cheetah Project.  None of them had seen wild cats before and it was a special moment for the school staff and all of us at Emdoneni Lodge with Cheetah Project to witness their interaction with the Cats.

What We Have Done So Far:

  • Tidied the garden
  • Cleaned all the classes, headmaster’s office and store room
  • Supplied 40 lap desks, some of the students had no tables nor chairs
  • Supplied pencils, scissors, crayons, glue and pencil boxes for each learner in the Grade 0 class
  • Supplied tables and chairs for the staff room
  • Installed 2 computers, a network and printer
  • Computer training for staff
  • Christmas function for staff
  • Daily office assistance
  • Painting of class rooms
  • Shelves in store rooms
  • Staff functions ie Christmas Parties

We have trained housekeepers, waitresses, gardeners to become chefs, barmen or managers. Nothing is impossible to a heart that is ruled by the desire to create exceptional guest experiences.  Everything is possible.
