It is impossible to run out of things to do in this little slice of wilderness heaven. Some of the activities at Emdoneni Lodge itself include game drives to Hluhluwe/iMfolozi Game Reserve done by our excellent and qualified guides. Visiting the cat centre, taking guided or non-guided walks through the lodge amongst the animals and if you require someone to look after the kids whilst you enjoy the activities, then Emdoneni Lodge offer a children’s program too.
Game drives are done to the Hluhluwe/iMfolozi Game Reserve in open game drive vehicles. This activity promise to be a life time opportunity to go search for the Big 5 with our resident guides. Enjoying a packed picnic breakfast or having your morning coffee/tea whilst enjoying the magnificent views. Afternoon game drives are definitely also an option.
During the tour to the cat project, visitors have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of South Africa’s endangered cat species; Caracal, Serval, Cheetah and the African Wildcat. This once in a lifetime opportunity can be enjoyed whilst being educated on a tour and guests even have an opportunity to watch feeding times.
Tour Times :
Summer ~ 10h30 and 16h30 daily (afternoon tour includes feeding)
Winter ~ (May to August) 10h30 daily and 16h00 daily (afternoon tour includes feeding)
Walk with the wildlife including Zebra, Impala, Nyala and Red and Grey Duiker. Don’t be surprised if the wildebeest and zebra decided to follow you on your walk!
The lodge area is renowned as a mecca for bird lovers. Some of the birds one might go in search for are: Narina trogon, Purple Crested Lourie, Brown Hooded King Fisher, African Broadbill, Yellow Throated Twin Spot and many more.
